The DGT shows the combination of infractions of a driver: “500 euros and 6 points seem little to me”

The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) often uses its social networks to raise awareness about the risky behaviors carried out by some drivers. And since a picture is usually worth a thousand words, the organization directed by Pere Navarro shares real videos recorded from aerial devices (helicopters and drones) that show non-regulatory and risky behavior by some road users. The last one corresponds to a combination of infractions committed by the same person at an intersection on a road in the province of Malaga.

The person driving a white SUV realizes that he has made a mistake when taking a detour, and instead of continuing to drive until he reaches a point where he can change direction to undo the distance traveled, he opts to change direction. illegal and reckless manner. Thus she ignores the road markings that prohibit her from maneuvering.

As the DGT itself explains, it does not respect continuous lines, striping or signs. Not to mention that he does not use the turn signals indicating the change of direction and enters the lane without realizing that a truck is approaching, which is forced to overtake him to avoid hitting him.

It is important to note that it is very difficult for the trailer to stop in time and safely behind the car in these circumstances, since it has been stopped unexpectedly and the heavy-duty vehicle is approaching at a high speed; Its own inertia makes it difficult to reduce the pace in a few meters.

According to Traffic, this reckless behavior carries a fine of 500 euros and a deduction of 6 points. A sanction that some X users consider insufficient for the seriousness of the facts. “It doesn’t seem like much to me for the outrages that the farmhand has done!”, “€500 alone? There it would be good as a lesson to withdraw the license some month”, “With €500 and 6 points it seems to me that the maneuver was cheap. They should apply stronger penalties for certain things. There are people who should not have a driving license” or “Take away their license. Or do you need me to kill someone?” said some of the comments.

The Civil Guard has also used social networks to warn about the “capon” method that some drivers use to make turns with their car without taking into account other road users.

In accordance with the General Traffic Regulations, when making a right or left turn to enter a different road, the driver is obliged to signal it sufficiently in advance to warn the vehicles following him. In addition, you must ensure that this maneuver is legal and that the speed and distance of the vehicles approaching in the opposite direction allow you to carry out the maneuver safely. If these conditions are not met, the change of address must be rejected.
