Urban mobility has evolved profoundly in recent times and has led citizens, in many cases, to modify their habits on daily trips. Agility and ease of use are just some of the factors that users take into account when choosing vehicles for their trips, but they are not the only ones.
And the design is also a highly valued aspect, as highlighted by the manufacturer Daymak, which has developed a new three-wheeled electric proposal that mixes the qualities of a bicycle, a motorcycle and a car. The result is called Tectus and it is a versatile electric tricycle with a completely closed cabin that takes care of both safety, versatility and aesthetics.
It must be remembered that Daymak is a company dedicated to electric vehicles of all types. Its catalog includes everything from bicycles to motorcycles, quads, buggies, microcars, vehicles for people with reduced mobility and even scooters and toy cars for the little ones. As if that were not enough, the company is also in the midst of developing a flying car, also electric.
At the end of 2020, Daymak announced its Avvenire product line, which now includes the new Tectus. This line includes mobility solutions prepared for a future that is already very present and that are characterized by being light, agile, safe and intelligent.
It should be noted that the power of the Tectus comes from two motors, one in the front wheel and another intended to move the rear axle. Between the two motors they add up to 2,000 W and allow the vehicle to reach a maximum speed of 32 km/h. The tricycle integrates a reverse function and a small cargo compartment located in the rear.
The battery that powers the motors is 2,400 Wh for the Deluxe version and 5,400 Wh for the Ultimate. The second of them promises a maximum range of 160 km. Access to the interior is done by lowering a hood, a movement that can be done automatically or manually.
The Tectus is based on a somewhat futuristic design, just like the rest of the members of the Avvenire line from the manufacturer Daymak. The Ultimate trim includes air conditioning, heating, rearview mirror with integrated camera, GPS location and different types of sensors to facilitate urban driving.
Optionally, technologies such as wireless or even solar charging can be added. Its all-wheel drive system and tires are designed to be able to ride on all types of terrain beyond asphalt, including even sand or snow.
The first units of the Tectus will be available later this year, although the vehicle can now be pre-reserved. The price of this urban electric tricycle starts at around 6,500 euros in its basic version.
