The Alfa Romeo Tonale debuts Tributo Italiano, a high-end finish

The Tonale has been a before and after in the history of Alfa Romeo, a milestone in the process of conversion into a fully electric firm, scheduled for 2027. After its first full year, sales of the Tonale in the Spanish market already represent 62 % of its registrations, surpassing the Stelvio (34%) and the Giulia (4%).

Manufactured in Pomigliano, near Naples, the Alfa Romeo Tonale has quality and reliability as key points of its success. This commitment has been reflected in the JD Power study, in which the brand is a leader in the premium market.

Alfa Romeo reorganizes the Tonale range, providing greater added value, with more equipment. The offer is organized in three finishes: Sprint, Veloce and the new Italian Tributo. The Sprint comes standard with Matrix Full LED lights, a navigator with a 10.25-inch screen with connected services, a rear camera, aluminum pedals and 18-inch wheels.

The Veloce adds red Brembo brake calipers, 19-inch wheels, aluminum shift paddles, leather seats and dual-stage suspension. Designed as a tribute to the great features of automobiles imagined and manufactured in Italy, the Tributo Italiano has exclusive details such as two-tone combinations with the black roof or with the green, white and red of the “Tricolore”, hands-free gate or Harman Kardon audio system.

In the engine section, Mild Hybrid (MHEV) technology is present in two versions, 130 HP and 160 HP. Both are powered by front-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and, together, they account for 55% of Tonale sales, compared to 26% for the diesel engine. For its part, the Tonale Plug-in Hybrid Q4 with 280 HP (0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and up to 69 km in zero emissions mode) constitutes the top of the range and accounts for 19% of sales.

The 1.6 JTD diesel engine is designed to enjoy sporty behavior on long journeys efficiently. It delivers a power of 130 HP and a maximum torque of 320 Nm, figures more than enough to move the Tonale with notable dynamic agility. The approved consumption is 5.6 l/100 km and it is not difficult to obtain real averages of less than 6 l/100 km.

Its TCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox and standard limited-slip differential make the most of its front-wheel drive on all types of surfaces and terrain, ensuring a driving experience that emphasizes agility and sporty character, hallmarks of the Tonale. .

In the driving section, Alfa engineers have managed to offer sporty sensations. The effective self-locking differential, the dual-stage electronic suspension system and precise steering translate into always agile reactions and high driving fun.

The design is another of its strong points. His style represents the synthesis between the prestigious history of the brand and the development of a new aesthetic and new canons. Its “3 3” headlights and its taillights without curves create an unmistakable light signature.

In its sporty interior, the design is oriented towards the driver. The combination of noble materials, aluminum, leather and Alcantara reflect the personality of a young, urban and dynamic client. It incorporates two 22.5-inch screens and top-level connectivity and infotainment systems, designed for over-the-air updates and integrated with Amazon Alexa.

In the safety section, it is equipped with intelligent cruise control, Lane Centering, Rear Cross Path Detection, Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring system and HD Camera with 360º vision. In addition, it is the first car in the world to have an NFT digital certificate that identifies the vehicle from the moment of purchase and evolves in parallel with its life cycle and use.

Prices for the 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale range start at 40,400 euros. In the installment mode, the MHEV 130 CV Sprint version is available for 199 euros per month, with a down payment of 9,830 euros.
