It is not the first time that we see a Tesla compete with the best supercars on the market. On this occasion, the car buying and selling platform Carwow has put it to the test. Specifically, it has chosen the most powerful version of the Model Which of the three was the fastest and crossed the finish line of these ‘drag races’ first? The answer is at the end of the following video.
As you can see in the images, the Tesla, equipped with a propulsion system that develops more than 1,000 HP, comes out first. Its acceleration is dazzling, the kind that leaves your back glued to the back of the seat. This is because electric cars deliver torque instantly, by simply stepping on the accelerator pedal; On the other hand, internal combustion cars need to reach the optimal revolutions to perform at their best.
In the first pass, Elon Musk’s signature car won unquestionably, but not in the second, in which it reached the finish line at the same time as the Prancing Horse’s plug-in hybrid sports car. In fact, the finish was so tight that it was necessary to look closely at the photo finish to determine which one had crossed the finish line first. It seems that the Italian did it by a few centimeters, and in the third – and last – round of the quarter mile – about 400 meters – he clearly won. The big loser was the Lamborghini, unable to beat its rivals in any of the races.
It is worth noting that the Aventador SVJ, although equipped with a powerful V12 block, was the least powerful of the three. Its 770 HP and 720 Nm of torque were insufficient to beat the 986 HP of the SF90 Stradale or the 1,020 HP of the Model X Plaid. Although the Lamborghini offers spectacular performance, the performance of its rivals made it seem slow. Official data indicates that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h.
The role played by the electric SUV also deserves special mention. It is true that it was the most powerful of all, but also the heaviest. On the scale, the Model
Regarding the price of the three competing examples, there are also big differences. The cheapest is the Tesla, which in Spain costs from 143,900 euros, far from the almost half a million that other models can cost. In any case, we are faced with two types of cars with different philosophies. While one is electric and allows the entire family to travel, the remaining two are sporty models to enjoy driving as a couple.
