We all know that Spanish roads have a specific speed limit. Driving exceeding said speed limit can result in financial fines in addition to the removal of points on the driving license. Moreover, as the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) assures, driving at high speed is one of the most common offenses and, in turn, generates a greater number of fines. Not surprisingly, when we drive without respecting the speed limits established by Traffic, we not only put ourselves in danger but also risk the lives of the members of the rest of the vehicles.

The Traffic Department is very clear in this regard and recalls that it is considered a crime to drive “with excess speed greater than the established 60 km/h on urban roads and 80 km/h on interurban roads.”
