Amaia Frades and Silvia Garcia are two pharmacists who worked in the same laboratory formulating for major dermo-cosmetic brands. “Assets of natural origin passed through our hands more and more, obtained in more sustainable ways, and, at the same time, very efficient,” explains Garcia. “The conviction of being able to make 100% natural and efficient cosmetics –and not least, the desire to undertake– led us to create our own brand, after years of experience devising creams and serums for third parties”, adds Frades.

The two scientists launched Lamixtura in 2020, after an initial investment of 140,000 euros and with the help of a business incubation program led by women from Barcelona Activa. The Lamixtura product portfolio includes a moisturizing cream and four serums, which have been personally formulated by the entrepreneurs themselves. For manufacturing, the co-founders have relied on different laboratories in Catalonia and one in Alicante, which use technologies with low environmental impact. Half of the sales take place through the firm’s website and the other half, through different Spanish and German high-end natural cosmetics stores.

With the aim of gaining a foothold in the pharmacy channel, Lamixtura is immersed in a financing round of 400,000 euros, of which they have already obtained 100,000 euros that will be contributed by an investor, 75,000 euros through an Enisa loan and 50,000 euros through a business angel. Thanks to the boost that sales through pharmacies will bring, the entrepreneurs plan to close 2023 with a turnover of 350,000 euros.

The company’s headquarters are in the city of Barcelona, ??from where Frades and Garcia are working on new formulas. Lamixtura products are subject to the control of the Bio.inspecta certification entity and comply with the requirements of the BioVidaSana standard.
