After the success of the MG ZS, one of the best-selling vehicles in our country, the Chinese manufacturer is now focusing on hybrid cars. The Asian giant has just opened orders for the new MG3 Hybrid, its first self-charging hybrid model, which does not need plugs.
The vehicle has a starting price of 19,990 euros (without promotions or discounts), with which it hopes to be a reference in the B segment and compete in technology and volume with the market leader, the Japanese company Toyota.
In addition, the manufacturer will offer one year of free fuel (a Repsol fuel card valued at 526 euros) to all customers who reserve the model between April 8 and May 22.
From this date the brand will communicate the prices of the entire range and possible promotions. According to Europa Press, the first deliveries are expected at the end of May.
The new MG3 Hybrid has a combined power of 143 kW (195 HP), while they consider that its HEV technology sets “new references in its segment” thanks to its high-capacity battery, the power of its electric motor and its wide range of operating modes thanks to the independent generator.
In this sense, the company highlights that the model becomes the hybrid model in the B segment with the fastest acceleration in its class, with a time of 8 seconds, while it has a consumption of 4.4 l/100 km and emissions of 100 g/km of CO2.
Drivers can tailor the MG3’s responsiveness by choosing between three driving modes: Eco, Standard and Sport. Eco mode is calibrated to optimize fuel consumption; Standard mode offers a mix between efficiency and performance; On the other hand, the Sport has a more sensitive calibration and makes the most of the combined power.
The new MG3 arrives with three specifications for European customers: Standard, Comfort and Luxury. Each of them has different equipment and features, in accordance with the selected range.
