The Korean firm LG is well known for its range of consumer electronics products, from laptops to televisions or household appliances, but it has recently surprised with its entry into the field of mobility through a technological mini-caravan baptized with the evocative name of Bon Voyage.
Designed by the LG Labs division, it is presented as a compact towable vehicle measuring 3.8 m long, 2 m wide and 2.2 m high that aims to take occupant comfort to another level. This new creation has a quadrangular design and has a completely flat roof line, a large tailgate and a side access door.
The objective of the Asian firm with its Bon Voyage has been to achieve a personalized living space capable of transferring the comfort of home life to the outdoors. The cabin is designed to incorporate a comfortable bed as well as extensive equipment that includes a refrigerator with freezer, electric heating and a water purification system.
Among the many curious details it incorporates is a shoe cleaning kit designed, for example, to tune up your hiking boots after an excursion through muddy terrain. The interior space of the mini-caravan is very well used, with storage areas located under the mattress where all types of utensils can be stored.
The bottom of the tailgate can serve as a countertop. On one side of the vehicle there is also a sliding table with an integrated induction hob and several drawers to store, for example, non-perishable food. The other side of the mini-caravan houses an OLED TV neatly hidden behind a folding panel that converts into a table.
Among other striking details included in the Korean brand’s vehicle are a small outdoor refrigerator designed especially for drinks when the occupants are outdoors, a trunk in the front for luggage of all kinds and even a karaoke machine. in case anyone cheers up with a song after dinner.
Not to be overlooked are the significant glass areas located at the rear, which ensure that occupants enjoy fantastic views of the natural environment in which they find themselves. It should be noted that, thanks to its compact size, the Bon Voyage can be easily towed by cars of almost any size and power.
Since this proposal comes from LG Labs, a division focused mainly on experimental products and services, it must be considered that it is an alternative in a prototype version. At the moment, it is not planned to become a production model, at least in the near future.
However, it is an interesting preview of how the Asian firm sees the future of the “pocket” caravanning sector. You can learn about the vehicle in more detail in the video that accompanies this article (starting at minute 6).
