It might seem obvious, but so many business owners don’t appreciate that it is important to keep the front of your business premises looking fresh, clean, and well-cared for. This is because it provides a good first impression of your business to any potential customer that happens to visit it, and it can instill a greater level of pride within your workforce as well.
The amount of time, money, and effort it will take to keep your business premises looking good to the outside world will depend on how large your company is. However, it is a good investment as nobody wants to use a business that looks old, rundown, or neglected, as this could be reflected in the products or services that they provide.
#1 Building maintenance
If you rent your business premises, you may think that it is not up to you to maintain the building, and you are almost certainly right. However, it is not your landlord’s business that is affected by how scruffy the exterior happens to look.
You can, of course, ask your landlord to paint the outside when and where it requires, or you could take matters into your own hands and hire a painter decorator to perform the work for you to get a much more professional result. Regardless of which route you take, you should ask your landlord’s permission before you go ahead to ensure that they are happy with you painting the exterior of their building.
#2 Landscape gardeners
There is very little that makes the outside of a building better than having some well-manicured grounds – even if it is just a couple of large planters outside the front door. Hiring the services of landscape gardeners to perform the revamp and then maintain it will ensure that it continues to look its best, especially if you allow the landscape gardeners to place a plaque or a board to advertise that it is their work that the onlooker is viewing.
#3 Limit vandalism
Vandalism, or the threat of it, is something that is constantly on business owners’ minds. It is often regarded as an eyesore to everyone other than those that put it there, and painting over it only to have it redone can be frustrating and expensive. The only way to get away from this is to break the cycle, and you can do this by knowing how to stop vandalism.
#4 Prevent dumping
If your business is in a rural area or one that is far from residential, you may have been the victim of those individuals that think it is fine to dump trash outside your business or in your parking lot gateway, or actually around your site. This can cause an eyesore as well as be expensive to get rid of. In order to prevent this, you could install CCTV cameras to capture any activity around your site and at the entrance when your business is shut down in the evening. However, you will also have to install lighting to make sure that your cameras pick up any license plates or driver’s faces so that they can be found and prosecuted.
