The Barcelona Occasion Show closed its 41st edition last Sunday with more than 1,000 vehicles sold. Although the 2,500 cars available have not been sold out, Fira Barcelona – organizer of the event with the support of the Motor Guild and the Catalan Automotive Distribution Association (Fecavem) – considers that the balance is positive, since the contest has had a shorter duration. Although it has gone from nine to five days, sales from last year have increased by 25%.

As has happened in other editions, the majority of buyers have opted for passenger cars of up to 4 meters, as well as SUVs, all-terrain vehicles and sedans from 4.5 meters in length. In terms of engines, gasoline models have been the best sellers, followed by hybrids, which continue to grow. For their part, 100% electric units are little by little conquering the used market, and in this edition they have already accounted for 6% of the total, double that of last year.

“Most exhibitors have exceeded their sales targets and some have even sold out. Excellent results that confirm the recovery of the sector that has begun in recent months and that support the new, more concentrated show format,” stated the president of Ocasión, Jaume Roura.

It is estimated that the more than 1,000 vehicles sold represent a turnover of around 24 million euros, given that the average price of the vehicles exhibited at the show was 23,800 euros.

Likewise, many operations have also begun within the framework of Ocasión that will soon be carried out in the dealerships, along with those that can be carried out through the website www.portalsalonocasion.com, which will remain open until December 31 with a selection of the offers still available, thus contributing to increasing the total number of transactions and final business volume.
