The unions are unhappy, again, from the meeting held this Thursday with the management of Ford Valencia on the planned ERE. The second jug of cold water, after knowing the figure of 1,144 jobs in exit positions, is that the company wants to substantiate the surplus of personnel in a quarter, something “unaffordable due to its magnitude”, as denounced by UGT- PV in his subsequent statement.

The majority union formation in the Valencian Ford plant has also explained that the company wants to “reach a lower agreement with respect to previous agreements”, for which reason they will ask at the next meeting for a lowering of the starting age for a hypothetical plan, under 55 years of age agreed in the previous one. They estimate that there are about 600 employees over the age of 55, but the ERE is contemplated for almost double.

In summary, UGT-PV today asks Ford to move from its initial approaches, in order to offer conditions that are attractive enough to achieve the maximum number of voluntary departures.
