Ford has submitted a project to qualify for aid from the second line of the second call for the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (Perte VEC II), aimed at the electric vehicle value chain.

The American firm, which projects the electrification of the factory in Almussafes (Valencia), has confirmed to Europa Press its competition for aid, after this Wednesday the central government has enabled the window to request them.

This line has a budget of 559 million euros, of which the maximum total amount called will be 344.42 million euros in the form of a grant and 215.24 million in the form of loans, which will be repayable at the interest rate of the 2.88% and with a total repayment term of 10 years with a 3-year grace period.

Ford also confirmed in July that it has submitted an application for the specific line of batteries of the second call of the Perte VEC with the aim of developing a battery assembly project in Valencia.

The Almussafes factory was chosen by Ford to produce its new electric vehicle platform in Europe from 2025, a decision that ensured the workload for years to come. Therefore, it will have to make investments in the plant to adapt it to electrification.
