Fantastic: the Oldtimer is reborn

Swamp Dogg is anything but seedy.

For a year and a half ago and resurrected the seasoned soulsanger as futuristic motherfucker on the awesome ’Love, Loss, and Auto-Tune, and now is mad again, with the aging of the mongrel in ’Sorry You Couldn’t Make It’.

At the age of 77 puts Swamp Dogg gebisset in a number of countryballader, so vemoden driver down the cheeks of a degree, who gets his cowboy boots to stand under the water.

The odd vocalist and songwriter, is a long-standing traditionalist with a tendency to an eccentric twist and this time also he refuses, thankfully, to accept the conventions.

Irresistibly vibrant ’Family Pain’ is a groovy game of hillbilly disco, which, indeed, is about to smoke crack and act with cocaine.

Almost as fantastic and outlandish is psychedelic ’Memories’, which is one of the two magnificent duets with the legend John Prine.

’Sorry You Couldn’t Make It’ is wonderfully arranged with production by Ryan Olson from popbandet Poliça, who also stood behind its predecessor, but despite cameo appearances by, among others, Bon Zeal helm, Justin Vernon, is Swamp dogg’s dented the charm of the great experience.

He folds out on a skæppeskøn version of its 50-year-old heartthrob ’Don’t Take Her (She’s All I’ve Got)’, as Johnny Paycheck originally hit with, and everything seems possible, when an oldtimer is as good as new.
