Kia is betting heavily on electric mobility with its new EV6 and EV9 or with the renewed e-Niro. And it has also recently presented the EV5, another electric SUV smaller than the EV9, already for 2025. A path laid out to reach the complete decarbonization of the automobile fleet, at least in Europe. But Kia’s contribution goes beyond offering 0-emission electric cars to the market. And the Korean brand has demonstrated unusual creative potential so far, with a series of cars with surprising design and, above all, that seek the most emotional side of the motorist.

This is the case of the EV6, a mix of SUV and coupe that powerfully seduces with its daring appearance and magnificent stance. In any case, the EV6 has changed the way we understand the electric car. And it is the brand’s first model developed on a specific platform designed exclusively for electric vehicles.

But the EV6 range has a model, the EV6 GT, that has broken all the existing patterns and conventions about electric cars. It is a reference in high performance among electric cars that mix different concepts in its bodywork. For starters, it is the most powerful Kia in history. And thanks to its advanced electric propulsion system capable of generating 585 HP, the EV6 GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 260 km/h. Big words, no doubt.

Kia accurately describes it as a high-performance, all-electric crossover created for the new era of sustainable mobility. It is about offering customers a car with great performance, combined with maximum comfort and equipped with ultra-fast charging technology. Externally, it shows a series of details and modifications that certify the scope of its performance and, at the same time, establish differences with the, let’s say, “normal” EV6.

So that the driver has the perception of being behind the wheel of an exclusive sports car, the EV6 GT has an active sound function, responsible for providing a synthesized increase of the selected sounds through the audio system of the prestigious Meridian brand. Equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, the EV6 GT has four-wheel drive. The front engine has 218 HP and is combined with a new engine at the rear that generates 367 HP. The total combined power is 585 HP, with truly spectacular acceleration.

The battery has a capacity of 77.4 kWh and the approved range reaches 424 km. Equally notable is the ultra-fast charging capacity that allows you to go from 10 to 80% charge in just 18 minutes. It also includes the bi-directional charging function to use the car’s battery power to charge devices such as electric bicycles, scooters or smartphones. The high performance of the EV6 GT has forced Kia technicians to develop a firmer suspension that limits roll when cornering and improves reactions when changing lanes. The result is a precise and sporty steering feel. Highly stimulating.

Seen from the front, the GT-specific bumper highlights the width of the car. Laterally, the sporty character is reflected in the five-spoke alloy wheels and the huge 21-inch wheels. The brake calipers in a neon finish speak of their high braking power. And at the rear, the EV6 GT boasts an exclusive bumper and diffuser that complete the aesthetic customization of the vehicle.

Likewise, inside the driver discovers attractive customization with details such as metal inserts with the GT badge and neon green piping that highlight the modern and technical appearance of the seats. The ergonomic two-spoke steering wheel includes a GT Drive selector, to easily customize the driving experience.

Kia includes as standard in the EV6 GT equipment 21-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, keyless entry and start, panoramic sunroof, tinted windows, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and seats or electric trunk lid with hands-free opening. In addition, aluminum pedals and sports seats with integrated headrest and upholstered in leather and Alcantara. On the other hand, it has two screens in a single highly attractive curved panoramic panel that groups the driver’s instrumentation and the multimedia screen. All this, completed with the projected Head-Up Display information system with augmented reality, 360º camera, remote parking system from the key, wireless charging for smartphones or premium audio system, already mentioned, from the Meridian firm.

Kia does not neglect safety and driving assistance systems and includes automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, active rear cross traffic assistant, pre-collision warning of pedestrians or objects in parking, blind spot detector, cruise control. adaptive cruise with stop function
