Single-parent families in Pamplona will have discounted rates for using the electric bicycle rental system. Soon, and at the proposal of the City Council, the company Ride On, which manages the service, will modify the rate for these families by establishing the annual subscription at 50% of the current price.

The price of this type of family units is thus equated with the rate for large families, with that of people over 50 or young people, and is set at 17.50 euros per year, as explained by the City Council in a note. In addition, the company offers different promotions throughout the year to reward the most frequent users of the service.

This Tuesday the delegate councilor for Education, Equality and Cultural Diversity and Citizen Relations, Participation and Seniors, Carlos Salvador, presented this novelty that adds to the measures launched this summer to encourage the use of bicycles in daily trips and contribute to sustainability in the city. In fact, last week was the second of the year in number of registered uses. From September 25 to October 1, municipal bikes registered 14,908 uses that completed 34,537 kilometers, a figure only surpassed by the week of April 24 to 30 in which 14,922 uses were registered.

To qualify for this municipal aid, people who request it will receive a promotional code that is entered in the app or on the website at the time of purchasing the annual pass and the discount is applied automatically, charging the amount of 17 .5 euros, instead of 35 euros. The promotional code is obtained by presenting documentation proving your family situation at the Ride On Pamplona User Service Office (Avenida de Galicia 1), from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Physical proof must also be provided to demonstrate that the telephone number used by the person corresponds to their ID. For more information, you can consult the Ride On website, call 848 670 016 or write to support@rideonpamplona.com.

The approved rate is 50% of the price of the general annual subscription, which is established at 35 euros, with a vehicle release cost of 30 cents; People who are occasional users have a vehicle release cost of 1.10 euros.

The Pamplona City Council’s electric bicycle rental service has almost 59,000 registered users, with 930,798 trips made, and almost 2,181,000 kilometers traveled. These figures refer to the definitive start of the service, in the month of May 2022. This initiative is part of GoGreen Pamplona, ??the Energy Transition and Climate Change Strategy2030, one of whose work areas is the reduction of emissions, especially private transport, in addition to improving energy efficiency, to turn Pamplona into a greener and more sustainable city.

Rental bicycles, together with the almost 14 kilometers of bike lanes and the 2,500 spaces offered in 9 park and ride facilities, contribute to this sustainable mobility, with less use of private vehicles in the urban core. In fact, the 8 gauges installed in the city have accumulated more than 3.5 million bicycle passes since the service began.
