Orion Group Holdings to Establish Global Headquarters at East River Development
Orion Group Holdings, a marine construction firm, has signed a lease to move its global headquarters to Midway’s 150-acre East River development in downtown Houston. The company will occupy 63,519 square feet in two office buildings, bringing the office occupancy rate to 95 percent in the mixed-use development.
East River has become a hub for maritime-linked industries, with a number of maritime organizations establishing a presence along the waterway with ties to Houston’s founders. Orion Group Holdings, Inc. provides specialty construction services in the infrastructure, industrial, and building sectors across the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and the Caribbean Basin.
The new headquarters will feature flexible workspaces, advanced technology infrastructure, and access to retail, dining, recreational amenities, and the Buffalo Bayou trail system. Shares of Orion Group are traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
The consolidation of Orion Group’s three Houston offices into the East River location is seen as a move that embodies the company’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence. The lease agreement was brokered by Collin Grimes and Bill Boyer from CBRE, along with Amanda Nebel from Parkway.
East River, located on the former Brown & Root campus, has completed construction on its first phase, with office tenants such as Impact Networking, Method Architecture, TEAL, and Suderman & Young already moved in. Retail, dining, and entertainment establishments are also planned within the development.
