Dramatic video: Ferry struggling to put the dock in the storm

A trip with the ferry CalMac between the island of Arran and the scottish town of Androssan was only for the really søstærke on Friday. You can certainly understand, if someone was seasickness of the trip.

On a video, you can see how the ferry is fighting a brave battle to dock in the port of Androssan, while the storm Dennis strenuously try to prevent this with gusts of 128 km/h.

the BBC has spoken with a man from the island of Arran, William Campbell, who sat in his car and saw how the ferry was struggling to dock. He was taking the ferry back to the island.

It succeeded the captain to get the ferry loaded to the berth, but he, however, decided to postpone the trip back because of the weather, but nonetheless went on to sail back to the island at 19.30, while the storm still raged. The boat trip describes William Campbell as ‘a little too wavy’.

Holiday – 20. dec. 2019 – at. 15:47 Superyacht smashes into the bridge, but the clip goes viral for completely different reasons

William Campbell was born and raised on the island and is thus used to hard weather, but it was according to him, the worst weather he had ever experienced, and although he is an experienced passenger, he was seasick on the trip over.

Some would probably be too frightened by the sight of the rocking of the ferry to board, but not William Campbell. He would be just like home.

– It is easier not to be afraid, when you grow up with it. It is just the way it is, to live on an island, says William Campbell for the BBC.
