Margarida Trias has spent her entire life surrounded by jewels. She comes from a family with a jewelery and watchmaking tradition and, in 2006, she founded her own company for the marketing of these items, Clicktime, from which she works with brands from all over the world. This economist by training has now gone a step further and she has created her own jewelery brand, which she has named Condret, a word that comes from the Balearic Islands and means without physical or moral defect. In this latest business venture, Trias has a partner, Maria Auguets.
Condret is a firm born in January of this year that is characterized by using recycled metals. On the other hand, it uses “precious crystals instead of precious or shiny stones, because mining has a great environmental impact,” warns Trias. Another differential point is manufacturing: “Most jewelry brands manufacture in Asia, but we do it in Italy,” says the co-founder.
Condret’s jewellery, which is designed by Trias, is available in the brand’s online store, in electronic stores – including Clicktime – and in jewellery, watchmaking and fashion stores in the province of Barcelona. For each purchase, the company makes a donation to projects related to the sea and marine life. Specifically, buyers can choose between a coral restoration project and another for the extraction of plastic waste from the sea.
Based in Sabadell and a team of four people, the forecast is that Condret will end in 2023 with a turnover of 150,000 euros. The company has participated in Jump Startup Women Spain, in collaboration with the Esade Entrepreneurship Institute.
In addition to using sterling silver and gold-plated sterling silver from recycled jewelry or other items, Condret makes it easy for customers to return unwanted Condret jewelry so the materials can be reused to create new ones. parts. In exchange, the client receives financial compensation for the purchase of a new jewel from the firm.
