Totem Automobili, the Italian automotive company specialized in modifying classic Alfa Romeos, has recently revealed a new creation named GTAmodificata. It should be remembered that, among the legendary racing sports cars of the 60s, the Alfa Romeo GTA (acronym for Gran Turismo Alleggerita), which was manufactured between 1965 and 1975, is one of the most valued among automobile enthusiasts.
One of the many reasons why they are so sought after is that only around 500 GTA units were made and very few survived their demanding racing careers. That is why they can now be as valued as some Ferraris or other myths from those decades.
One of these units of the compact coupe, more precisely the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm variant, has been chosen by Totem Automobili to be reinvented and modified and give rise to the GTAmodificata. The Italian specialists have maintained the original vehicle structure, but replaced the original body panels with new, lightweight carbon fiber parts.
The car has also been equipped with forged wheels from the manufacturer Dymag associated with Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, as well as new LED headlights and specific LED rear lights. One of the factors that makes the GTAmodificata stand out even more is the fact that the carbon fiber body is completely exposed.
Not to be overlooked, on an aesthetic level, are both the presence of visible rivets throughout the body and the blue-painted front bumper. All these modifications give it a unique character. Beyond appearance, Totem Automobili’s highest priorities have been placed on reducing weight and increasing power.
As a result, the vehicle is now 200 kg lighter and 200 hp more powerful than the GT Super, one of the company’s previous creations. The key point at a performance level is the customized 3.2-liter biturbo V6 engine originating from Italtecnica Engineering. It weighs only 165 Kg and delivers a surprising 810 HP and 730 Nm of maximum torque between 3,500 and 6,000 rpm.
This enormous force is sent to the rear wheels through a sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. Thanks to all this, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of more than 300 km/h. The GTAmodificata also integrates new Brembo brakes and a new double wishbone suspension with R53 shock absorbers front and rear.
As Totem Automobili has announced, this exclusive vehicle is still in the prototype phase, but when it finally goes into production, it will be limited to just five units, each with a price of 1.1 million euros. Deliveries are scheduled for summer 2026. If you are interested in seeing the moment of the car’s presentation, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
