Brightcove Powers Japan’s Newest Streaming Service, J:COM’s “Animal Watch”
Brightcove (NASDAQ: BCOV) has recently announced a partnership with JCOM Co., Ltd. (J:COM), Japan’s largest cable TV company, to launch a new streaming service called Ikimono Watch (“Animal Watch”). This collaboration aims to provide viewers across Japan with high-quality and engaging content from zoos and aquariums.
According to Chiyo Yanagita, Country Manager at Brightcove Japan, the decision by J:COM to choose Brightcove as its streaming technology partner highlights the platform’s reliability, security, and scalability. The Ikimono Watch app, designed to work with J:COM set-top boxes, was developed using Brightcove’s Android SDK. The Video Cloud platform securely hosts video content sourced from various zoos and aquariums in Japan, ensuring a seamless viewing experience for users.
