Altamonte Mall finds home for displaced Artegon tenants

Altamonte Mall has created a mini-Artegon from displaced tenants in the shuttered tourist district mall.

Altamonte Mall announced the Marketplace at Altamonte store Friday, which includes five of the former Artegon tenants. It also signed two tenants, Florida Soap Co. and Bowes Signature Candles, to full spaces.

Artegon closed suddenly in February, a few months after owner Lightstone put the property up for sale. While anchor tenants still remain open, the interior of the mall has been locked up. The property is still on the market.

“We are pleased to welcome these local artisans to Altamonte Mall,” said Ted Newkirk, general manager of the Altamonte Mall in a statement. “As the premier shopping mall for the northern Orlando community, we are always evolving and look forward to delivering unique products that customers have come to expect from us.”

Included at the new Marketplace are leather bag seller Vagabond Traveler, Ziva Dorona Bridal Accessories, jewelry maker Steampunk Garage, Jewelry Noveau and dip maker Simply Savory.

The Marketplace at Altamonte is one open space for the five retailers. It is on the second floor near Barnes & Noble.

Florida Soap Co. owner had announced their place at Altamonte Mall before Artegon closed.
