ACS surpasses the Chinese CSCE as the first international construction company

This year, ACS has surpassed the Chinese construction giant China State Construction Engineering (CSCE) as the world’s leading construction company thanks to its strong presence in the United States and the push of its German and Australian subsidiaries.

According to ENR’s annual Global Sourcebook classification 2022, published today and which has become the sector’s reference for years, ACS and its subsidiary Hochtief added revenue from their activity as international contractors amounting to $13,584 million last year.

The figure exceeds that of CSCE, which registered activity equivalent to 9,502 million, at a time when construction activity has slowed down significantly in its country of origin.

ACS achieves first position in categories such as general building and subcategories such as construction of hospitals, shopping centers, education, commercial buildings and sports facilities.

In third position in the ranking is the Scandinavian group Skanska, with 5,621 million, ahead of the French company Bouygues, with 4,925 million. Other Chinese groups such as China Communications Construction Group or China Railway Construction also appear in the top positions.

The next Spanish company on the list is Ferrovial, which occupies fifteenth position. Acciona is in position number 42.

ENR has also included in the first positions in groups such as aerospace infrastructure, data centers and mining, and in second position in the biopharmaceutical infrastructure section and in telecommunications.
