With 26 producers from 15 different areas, and with more than 100 wines explained by their protagonists, Mujeres del Vino arrives tomorrow, Tuesday, for the first time in Madrid. It will be the first time they will meet outside of Catalonia. The seventh edition of the wine showroom made by women will be held tomorrow afternoon at Madrid’s Palacio Santoña.

The initiative is completed with a round table in which the importance of wine in gastronomy will be discussed. Meritxell Falgueras, communicator, sommelier and author of books on wines and drinks will participate in the debate; Anne-Joséphine Cannan, founder of Women of Wine and director of the family winery Clos Figueras del Priorat; María José San Román, president of MEG and founder and chef of the Monastrell Restaurant in Alicante; Silvia García, Head Sommelier of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid; and Cristina Tierno, head of MEG Wine, sommelier and owner of the Directo agency.

From the organization, which is in the hands of Meritxell Falgueras and Anne-Joséphine Cannan, it is stated that “we do not understand that even today some of the most important events are carried out only by them.” Speaking to La Vanguardia’s Comer channel, Falgueras adds that the great objective of Mujeres del Vino, which started its showroom in Gratallops (Priorat), is to “put the focus on the women who are behind wine.”
