In order to encourage children’s motivation, help detect learning problems and improve academic performance, many parents decide to get involved in their children’s academic education and see how they learn at school.

It is then that some parents may notice some inconsistencies in the learning method. As demonstrated by the Twitter user @Madredelalobita, showing the peculiar correction of a teacher of her son and opening a debate.

The exercise. “I want you to try to guess why my daughter’s teacher marks this exercise as wrong”, she points out in a tweet while she shares the image of the exercise: “There are four boxes with three rings each. How many rings are there in all?” says the statement.

Child’s response. The child responds as follows: multiply the four boxes by the three rings and get 12 rings as a result. However, the teacher corrects the exercise and points out that the resolution carried out by the child is wrong.

More exercises. But not only that, in a second tweet the mother adds: “I am going to add fuel to the fire: if the norm is contained by continent, why is there another one if it is fine?”, she points out while sharing the image of the exercise: ” There are two drawers with 43 hoops each. How many rings are there in all?” says the statement. The boy responds as follows: she multiplies two by 43 and gets 86 as a result.

In numbers. An image that has not taken long to go viral on Twitter with almost 200,000 visits and all kinds of reactions to it: most of them confused by the teacher’s correction and others pointing to the correct answer.

Top comments. “Because it would be 3×4, not 4×3. It seems silly, but the correct way is to multiply the content by the continent”, “Well, you’ve already discussed it with the teacher and she doesn’t want to admit any mistake. I raise it to the address. Especially seeing the rest of the exercises. Your daughter got it right she put the 3 ‘under’. If you ask your daughter to do the same exercise as the others, she will take it for granted”, “It’s still bad in the teacher’s book, which we use as a reference to correct faster, and she hasn’t realized it”, “! What a simplicity! Get ready that with the table of 4 the same thing will happen to you! Here she has not evaluated for what she knows, but for what she wanted me to put, that’s clear! It happened to me a lot in my student days, there are people who don’t want to see beyond what they like to see” or “Because they have put 4×3 but it should be 3×4. Permanent. I had the same discussion with my son’s tutor last year. I still don’t understand his logic ”, have been some of the most popular reactions.
