This last weekend of October, Barcelona hosts several activities that aim to highlight the value of everyday products that have become part of our most popular gastronomic culture, such as hamburgers, parmesan cheese or coffee. Until Sunday, the first international hamburger championship is being held in the Plaza del Univers at Fira de Barcelona, ??which seeks to find the best in Europe.

The Champions Burger brings together in Barcelona an international representation of more than 20 high-quality hamburger restaurants. The attending public will be the ones who will make up the jury, through the votes they have cast on each preparation through a QR code. Thus, the venue (which can be accessed for free) will host food trucks from local establishments, such as Folks, Laburguesa, Double Biere or Timesburg, and others from all over the European continent.

There will also be an event for cheese lovers. Specifically, with one of the most famous in the world, parmesan, which has its own competition. Barcelona and Madrid are the two cities in the country that participate in the Parmigiano Reggiano DOP Festival, and in the Catalan city 11 restaurants will become ambassadors of this Italian product, creating special dishes in which Parmesan is the protagonist. The La Balmesina pizzeria, the Paradiso cocktail bar and the Delacrem ice cream parlor are some of the establishments participating in the festival.

Finally, liquid gastronomy will shine at the Naked Festival, which will showcase some of the territory’s best specialty coffees and natural wines, as well as other products such as kombucha. The event (to be held on Sunday at Espacio 88) aims to publicize projects that embody craftsmanship and are committed to sustainability.
