Walks towards twilight in Sitges

I have captured for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia this photograph of the sunset on the Passeig Marítim de Sitges, in the Garraf, where the twilight sky of the candle stands out.

The seafront promenade of Sitges is one of the great emblems and attractions. Places of great interest are concentrated here. It receives two names: the Passeig de la Ribera, which is the section closest to the historic center, and the Marítim, which continues towards the southwest.

It has an approximate length of 3 kilometers, practically reaching the Riera de Ribes Lagoon. Its interest is maximized by its monumental character, since here we find some of the most beautiful buildings in Sitges, especially its parish of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla.

In addition, the promenade is dotted with buildings with great charm, in a modernist, maritime and eclectic style. And at dusk you can see sunsets like this one, colored by the candlelight.

The candilazo is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that ranges from pink to the most intense orange.

As part of the phenomenon of dispersion of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches the Earth is soft tones between red and orange.
