The PP and Vox will make public today, if there are no unexpected delays, the agreement to share areas of power in the new Valencian executive that Carlos Mazón will preside over and in which Santiago Abascal’s party will manage a vice presidency, which could have powers in Culture , which would be managed by the bullfighter Vicente Barrera, according to Levante-EMV and two ministries. Still without officially confirming, sources close to the negotiation point out that Vox will manage Agriculture and another ministry that could be either Justice or Social Welfare. In addition, the agreement incorporates 50 political action measures to be developed during the legislature.
The negotiating teams have maintained total discretion on a government agreement that PP sources take for granted; but without yet outlining fundamental details to understand the dimension of the pact that was announced last Monday. As already announced, the PP and Vox will govern the Generalitat Valenciana together and, in exchange, the green party will have the vice-presidency of the Valencian Parliament and various parcels of executive power. But the key will be the definition of the policies and who manages them. It could happen, according to these sources, that one ministry assumes powers from another in this new government.
Carlos Mazón announced yesterday that Health and Education were “key” departments for the PP, which made it clear that these areas, with a strong social sensitivity, were not going to be in the hands of Vox. The new executive will have ten ministries, including the president. According to this logic, the PP will have control of the strategic areas of Health, Education, Finance and it will be necessary to see if finally Social Welfare, another of the most sensitive areas of the administration, is also in the hands of Carlos Mazón.
