The Vox trustee in the Valencian Courts, Ana Vega, has stressed that her formation “respects the law” and therefore the Valencian Academy of Language (AVL). “The AVL is in the Statute and we are respectful of the current legislation”, she has indicated. But she has not specified which Valencian the ministries managed by this formation will use: “they will have to ask the ministries for this”. Yes, she has clarified that she will use “Spanish, which is also an official language in the Valencian Community.”

Ana Vega spoke before the defense of the “academic and scientific authority” of the AVL carried out last Monday by Carlos Mazón and that all the ministries should use the normative Valencian of the Academy. A day before, the president of the Cortes, Llanos Massó, from Vox, questioned the authority of the AVL and announced that she was going to use a non-statutory regulation such as that of the Normes del Puig.

Since Mazón’s call to order, the extreme right has eliminated Valencian from its institutional communications and only expresses itself in Spanish, as Levante-EMV announced yesterday.

The Vox trustee has defended that the linguistic debate “is an artificial controversy” since “the two languages ??have coexisted without any problem until the left arrived and turned it into a totally absurd workhorse. There has never been a bad coexistence between the two languages. Valencian is our regional language, it is cultural wealth and we have to protect it and that is what we are going to do from Vox always”, he pointed out.
