The municipal group of Vox in Valencia, made up of four councillors, was the only one that did not participate this morning in the transfer of the Real Senyera to the pedestal of the Crystal Hall that was held at the town hall. This event takes place every year, on the eve of the festival of October 9, day of the Valencian Community, so that the “senyera” receives the tribute of the Valencians until the descent that will take place tomorrow, Monday to preside over the Procession Civic.

The event took place at 9:30 a.m. and was chaired by the mayor María José Catalá, together with the spokesperson for Compromís and former mayor, Joan Ribó, the PP mayor, Juan Carlos Caballero, the councilor Elisa Valía representing the PSPV and the councilor Popular Culture, José Luis Moreno. Other members of the corporation from these three parties have also attended, except the four Vox councilors, including its spokesperson Juanma Badenes.

The mayor of València has said she does not know why the Vox representatives have not attended and that she has even tried to locate them without a response.

The Valencia City Council has opened its doors today so that Valencians can see the Real Senyera, which will remain on display in the Crystal Hall on the eve of the procession through the city center to celebrate October 9.

Although the doors of the town hall are open to visitors every day, between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. this Sunday, tourists or Valencian citizens who wish to do so will be able to visit the town hall with a novelty that is already traditional: admire the Royal Senyera in the municipal Crystal Hall.

During that time, citizens will be able to approach the city’s flag, the only one in the world with the rank of royalty, which does not bow to anything or anyone and which, consequently, on Monday the 9th will be lowered vertically from the City Hall to presiding over the civic procession.
