The main entities affected by the Coastal Law in Vilassar de Mar (Maresme) met with several Catalan senators to try to mediate against the imminent demolition of the facilities decreed by State Coasts. Senator Mirella Cortés and Senator Jordi Martí agreed to refer the problem to the Senate.

The three beach facilities explained their current situation before a Coastal Law that marks their present and future. From Bricbarca they explained the cultural project for the Palomares building, which maintains a firm demolition sentence. The Fishermen’s Club explained that they want to recover the boats on the beach and stop the demolition order of the fishermen’s houses, which are currently declared a Cultural Asset of Local Interest (BCIL). From the Club Nàutic they exposed their sports and educational career and the impossibility of adapting to the 300 square meters of surface area required by the Coastal Law to continue their activity.

Regarding the Palomares building, Bricbarca and the City Council explained to the senators the final demolition order issued by the Supreme Court and the project that the City Council, together with other cultural entities, wants to carry out to save it and turn it into a cultural, educational and sports center open to the public.

From the Club Patí Català de Vela Palomares they explained that their objective is to defend the Catalan skate, which is a beach boat that can only be beached on the beach and that can be practiced all year round. They also detailed the process they have carried out to obtain the concession from the Generalitat, which for years they have been temporarily renewing but which the Government has finally denied.

The senators listened to the situation and the proposals and made recommendations to unblock some of the issues, as interlocutors to manage a meeting between the Catalan Sailing Federation (where the historic yacht clubs of Catalonia affected by the Coastal Law are located) and the State , and ask the Spanish government if a modification of the Regulation of the Coastal Law will be carried out.
