On Tuesday, firefighters rescued a Connecticut woman who was struck by a bus and trapped under it. The moment was partly captured on video.
Just after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the Stamford Fire Department responded immediately to 911 calls regarding the woman at the intersection Atlantic and Broad streets.
The fire department released a press release saying that firefighters responded to the call and found the woman under the front axle of the tandem bus. Officials said that the woman, despite being trapped under the axle, was awake and able talk to firefighters.
According to the release, the rescue involved stabilizing the bus and using high-pressure airbags to lift it.

Fire officials stated that the woman was removed from the scene in less than 10 minutes.
She was transferred to Stamford Hospital in order to be evaluated.
The incident commander, Deputy Chief Matt Palmer, described the rescue as a “valiant, flawless effort” by Stamford firefighters.
