Castell, a militant from La Plana, was the founder of Esquerra Independent de Castelló, while he has participated in the LGTBI struggle to found the first Valencian movement to defend LGTBI rights.

Carme Jorques has received the award for “the tireless work of expanding the Valencian project in the southern regions through art and culture.” Thus, she has become a highly recognized artist for political Valencianism, which has already awarded her the Miquel Grau de Compromís per Alacant award in 2022.
