The Summit revolved around Miami-Dade’s four key pillars: health and wellbeing, education, resilient communities, and economic mobility. Additionally, there was a special focus on the ALICE population, which stands for asset-limited, income-constrained, employed individuals.

Symeria Hudson, the President and CEO of United Way Miami, highlighted the organization’s century-long presence in the community and its mission to connect those in need with the necessary resources. She emphasized the importance of partnerships and collaboration in finding effective solutions to help the community thrive.

United Way invests in over 100 programs through 60 partner agencies to support individuals across South Florida. WSVN-7, a long-time supporter and sponsor, continues to stand by the organization in its efforts to make a positive impact in the community.

The Summit served as a platform for key stakeholders to come together, exchange ideas, and work towards a better future for Miami-Dade County. By addressing the challenges in health, education, community resilience, and economic opportunities, the event aimed to pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous community.

In addition to the discussions and presentations at the Summit, attendees had the opportunity to network, share best practices, and build new connections. The collaborative spirit and shared commitment to improving the lives of individuals in the community were evident throughout the event.

As the United Way celebrates its longstanding presence and impact in the Miami-Dade area, the organization remains dedicated to its mission of creating positive change and supporting those in need. Through continued partnerships and initiatives, United Way and its supporters strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and families across South Florida.
