The United Way recently hosted its Impact Summit at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The event was attended by leaders from various organizations, including the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Office, Miami-Dade Public Schools, and Jackson Health. Together, they discussed the most pressing issues facing Miami-Dade County and brainstormed potential solutions.

The Summit revolved around Miami-Dade’s four key pillars: health and wellbeing, education, resilient communities, and economic mobility. Additionally, there was a special focus on the ALICE population, which stands for asset-limited, income-constrained, employed individuals.

Symeria Hudson, the President and CEO of United Way Miami, highlighted the organization’s century-long presence in the community and its mission to connect those in need with the necessary resources. She emphasized the importance of partnerships and collaboration in finding effective solutions to help the community thrive.

United Way invests in over 100 programs through 60 partner agencies to support individuals across South Florida. WSVN-7, a long-time supporter and sponsor, continues to stand by the organization in its efforts to make a positive impact in the community.
