A Ukrainian drone this Saturday caused damage to a residential building in the northeast of Saint Petersburg, forcing its tenants to evacuate, although no personal injuries were reported, according to local media.

At least five apartments suffered damage when they were hit by the remains of a drone, supposedly shot down by Russian anti-aircraft batteries, according to the Fontanka digital newspaper.

In the images published by the Telegram channels you can see the damage caused to the façade on the balconies of the five-story building.

The governor of the second Russian city, Alexandr Beglov, confirmed on social networks both that there were no injuries and the evacuation of the residents in the building.

The Shot and Mash channels speculate that the target of the attack was the Ruchi refinery located less than a kilometer from the damaged building.

The authorities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg banned the use of drones in the city’s territory in May 2023 following the intensification of attacks carried out by kyiv.

The targets of Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory are usually, in addition to weapons factories, refineries and fuel depots.
