Two workers at the Friselva meat company in Riudellots de la Selva have suffered minor injuries due to an ammonia leak, as reported by Civil Protection.
The Firefighters received the notification at 12:58 p.m. about a leak in this company, located on Mas Pins Avenue.
The leak occurred inside the company premises but outdoors.
The Firefighters moved six crews, who left shortly after 2 in the afternoon when the readings outside came out negative.
The company’s specialized personnel have taken charge of controlling the levels inside, where shortly before three in the afternoon they still test positive.
Protecció Civil has activated the Plaseqcat chemical risk plan alert and deactivated it once the company has controlled the leak. As reported by the company itself, the leak originated in a compressor and the workers themselves have neutralized the leak.
For the resolution of this incident, the Mossos d’Esquadra and, preventively, the Medical Emergency System (SEM) have also been activated, which did not have to intervene because the company’s own medical services had already given two workers for harassment levers
