The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested two thieves aged 19 and 20 red-handed while robbing an apartment in the Eixample district of Barcelona, ??to which four other home robberies are also attributed in which they made off with loot of more than 66,000 euros in jewelry and cash.

As reported by the Mossos d’Esquadra on Wednesday, the two women had committed another four robberies in homes in the Eixample district in just eleven days, two of them tourist apartments. The thieves, who accumulate six police records for robberies at homes between the months of June and July, are now accused of another four robberies at home and one more attempted. In two of the five robberies, the victims were inside the house at the time of the events.

The red-handed arrest of the two women by plainclothes agents of the Mossos d’Esquadra occurred during the investigation of the other four consummated robberies, with which they obtained a loot of more than 66,000 euros between jewelry and cash .

The detainees are two young women who are part of small itinerant groups who do not have a fixed residence in Catalonia and who take advantage of the fact that during the summer there are empty resident flats and more occupancy in tourist flats, likely to be there. valuables or cash. In this way, in summer they travel to tourist areas such as the center of Barcelona to commit as many criminal acts as possible in a short period of time.
