The Mossos d’Esquadra from the Banyoles police station have arrested two men, aged 45 and 46, who had arrest warrants issued by the Santa Paloma de Farners investigation unit.
The Banyoles agents identified the suspects in the parking lot of a supermarket in the town and verified that, in fact, they were wanted as alleged perpetrators of two thefts inside cars parked in front of a business in Santa Coloma.
The investigation indicates that the thieves, after collecting objects from the vehicles, made purchases with the stolen cards. For this reason, they are accused of crimes of theft and fraud. At the time of the arrest, and during the search, the Mossos found on the suspects clothing and accessories that they were wearing to camouflage themselves such as dark circles without glasses, hats and various caps.
Also objects intended to commit different types of theft, such as aluminum foil intended to neutralize the alarms of supermarket products, a bottle of liquid for thefts of the type known as the stain, and a bag of two and one cent coins. for ‘sowing’ type thefts.
The thefts occurred on September 9 and 21 during the morning in a parking lot of the same supermarket in Santa Coloma de Farners. In the first incident, the thieves took advantage of the fact that the victim was loading bags into the trunk to take the handbag without being seen.
In the second case, they distracted the victim by throwing coins on the ground and took advantage of this moment to also take the handbag. In both cases, the authors made several small purchases in stores in nearby towns. Those arrested accumulate other arrests.
