Two minors under the age of 15 have been arrested by the National Police for an alleged sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl in Murcia. However, the adolescents are free without charges and precautionary measures after giving a statement before the Minors’ Prosecutor’s Office. That means there is no restraining order in place for the boys.

As reported by judicial sources to the Efe news agency on Thursday, the events occurred in mid-April in the center of the Murcian capital, near a park where they had gone to drink alcohol. Days later, the mother of the minor reported the assault. The girl, only 13 years old, was afraid of possible reprisals from the attackers.

The three teenagers separated from the group and went to buy soft drinks at a store. Apparently, and under this pretext, the detainees took advantage of the fact that they were alone with the girl to grab her and lead her to the public garage where the attack occurred. In the underground car park they forced the minor to give them fellatio.

The minors were detained shortly after the facts were reported by the National Police and, after being turned over to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, they were released with charges. The judge found contradictions between the account of the mother and daughter and the “prudent, cautious and lacking in detail” statement made by the victim, who claimed that she did not remember well what she suffered as a result of drinking alcohol. For their part, the minors have denied the facts, according to La Opinión de Murcia.

The investigation continues open with the practice of new evidence to find out what happened, and if incriminating data against the boys is observed, their situation of freedom will change, the sources specify.
