The search continues in the sea for the two men who disappeared in Malaga last Sunday while practicing paddle surfing. Both of them, aged 29 and 34, had the intention of seeing the sunrise from the Misericordia beach, but nothing has been heard from them since. The board they were on, with a thermos of water on it, was rescued by a sailboat this Monday afternoon 15 miles off the Malaga coast.

It is the Tarifa Rescue Center that is coordinating the search device and this Tuesday it continues with its own means of Rescue and other administrations.

Specifically, as they have specified, the Helimer 207 helicopter, the Salvamar Alnitak, as well as Hamal, a Red Cross vessel LS Cronos and a Civil Guard patrol boat are mobilized this Tuesday. In addition, warnings continue to be issued to ships navigating in the area.

They were not experts in this sport, but they had already gone out three or four times to paddle surf on the coast, according to the newspaper Sur. This Sunday they had decided to enjoy the sunrise without taking into account the yellow alert due to strong northerly winds, a storm that caused numerous incidents in the province of Malaga on Sunday, and the alarms went off when hours passed and they did not return.

One of them, Maxi Ludvik, was absent from work as a waiter at a local in Malaga and the other, Emmanuel Soria, did not answer calls from his relatives.

It was the latter’s sister who reported the disappearance at the Police Station, from where the search device was activated in which both maritime and air means participate.

Regarding the search area for the device, the authorities have specified that it is from the area where the paddle surf board was found on Monday afternoon, 15 miles southeast of Malaga, and the drift process followed since they left from the beach of Mercy, in the capital.

On the other hand, Maritime Rescue has explained that it keeps the family informed at all times of the entire operation that is being carried out.
