Two men have been arrested in La Vila Joiosa for the alleged rape of a foreign tourist last August inside a home in that Alicante town.
As reported this morning by the Civil Guard, the events occurred at dawn when the victim was waiting for a taxi in Benidorm to return to her hotel after going out partying and the perpetrators offered to take her in exchange for money. After agreeing to travel with them and paying for the trip, the girl fell asleep, a moment that they both took advantage of to take her to one of her homes and sexually assault her.
The detainees have been placed in provisional prison as alleged perpetrators of rape. According to the information provided, the attack occurred on August 25 and it was the Local Police of La Vila Joiosa who initially helped a foreign tourist who claimed to have been sexually assaulted.
The local authorities informed the Civil Guard, whose Judicial Police team took charge of the investigation, with the aim of collecting evidence and preventing the possible escape of the alleged aggressors, since the victim did not know their identities.
Investigators determined that the victim had been in a leisure area frequented by tourists in Benidorm. At one point, when the establishment was about to close, she left alone to take a taxi to take her back to the hotel where she was staying. At that time, two individuals in a private vehicle offered to take her for a sum of money that the victim agreed to pay in advance. During the journey, taking advantage of the fact that the woman had fallen asleep, they took her to one of her homes and sexually assaulted her. When he woke up, the victim managed to escape and find help from some Local Police officers.
With this data, the investigators analyzed the nearby security cameras, which allowed the identification of the vehicle and the location of the place where the attack occurred. In addition, it was possible to identify the alleged aggressors, two men aged 39 and 44, one of them wanted by the National Police for a robbery with violence committed two days before the sexual assault.
This past September the Civil Guard arrested both individuals in La Vila, who are accused of the crime of sexual assault with carnal access. Both have been placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court of the Alicante town, decreeing their admission to prison without bail.
