The National Police have arrested two women for the crime of trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation and for prostituting six women in a hostess club in the province of Valladolid who were deceived with a false employment contract.
The detainees provided cocaine to the women to encourage them and kept the victims in an unsanitary situation in the club, in rooms with padlocks to prevent their escape, as detailed by the National Police in a statement.
The investigation began last June, when a victim of sexual exploitation managed to flee from a hostess club located in a municipality in the province of Valladolid by contacting the Unit Against Illegal Immigration Networks and Documentary Falsehoods of Valladolid.
The victim recounted how she was captured and deceived by her exploiters in another province through the false promise of a job as a waitress at the club, with one of the pimps also being in charge of orchestrating her transfer to the club’s facilities.
Upon arriving at the club, the victim verified that the job promise did not exist and she was required to practice prostitution subject to the guidelines of her exploiters, finding herself forced to do so in order to survive as a consequence of her situation of vulnerability and need, being obliged to hand over his exploiters a fixed amount of money for each sexual service he performed with the club’s clients.
The more sexual services he performed with clients, the more exponential enrichment his exploiters would achieve, who provided him with cocaine as an “incentive” when the number of clients served was satisfactory. In this way, the exploiters managed to increase dependency and control over the victims.
The rules imposed by the pimps on the women in the club were to have absolute availability, having to be “working” in the club every day of the week starting at 6:00 p.m. and with no end time, often until dawn.
Likewise, they had the obligation to “work” even if they were sick or unwell; obligation to deliver a fixed amount for each sexual service performed regardless of its amount; obligation to deliver half of the amount of each client’s drinks to their operators and restrictions on club outings.
The National Police has indicated that the unsanitary situation extended to the entire club, the living conditions of the place were degrading, they lacked electricity and hot water, having a generator and a wood stove in the room that filled the room with smoke. property, having to heat water in saucepans to clean themselves and lacking any hygiene measures, so they even lived with insect pests.
When the pimps, the club manager or her lieutenant were absent, the women remained locked inside with chains and padlocks to prevent their escape. They were not allowed to leave without authorization and supervision from their operators, and they only had the minimum amount of time necessary to buy groceries.
Furthermore, the club manager repeatedly used threats and coercion as mechanisms of control over the women, instilling fear, making them believe that they had influence among the authorities to be able to harm them or deport them to their country of origin, going so far as to physically attack the victims. .
Within the framework of the police operation called Papaya and for the purpose of the release of the victims and arrest of the alleged perpetrators, an entry and search order was requested from the investigating Court, and after being authorized, the entry and search procedure was carried out in the club, two women being arrested.
