Agents from the Aragon Police Headquarters have arrested two men aged 57 and 51 in Zaragoza as alleged perpetrators of a crime of homicide after brutally beating a homeless man who died days later in the hospital and who have been imprisoned.
The investigation, carried out by the Homicide Group of the Regional Judicial Police Brigade, began after calls received by the Police around 5:00 a.m. on January 7, in which several passers-by reported that on Paseo Echegaray y Caballero there were a man lying on the ground unconscious and bleeding.
The man, who had numerous bruises, especially in the head area, and who did not have any document to identify him, was transferred to a hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and died days later as a result. of the severity of the injuries he suffered.
According to the Aragon Police Headquarters, the agents managed to find out the identity of the victim, a 56-year-old man who currently lived in a shanty area located under a pedestrian bridge on the banks of the Huerva River in the Aragonese capital.
The investigations carried out by the agents to clarify the facts pointed directly to the victim’s closest environment and managed to find out that the man had had several previous altercations with two other men with whom he coincided at the Municipal Shelter.
According to several people from that circle, both had boasted in public about having brutally beaten the victim, coinciding in time and date with the moment in which the victim was found unconscious on the aforementioned Paseo.
On the morning of the 12th, the two men, with numerous police records, were arrested after being identified and located by an enabled device.
Both were placed at the disposal of the Court of Investigation of Guard, whose head ordered their immediate entry into prison after hearing their statements.
