The disappearance of Álvaro Prieto López four days ago has kept everyone in suspense. His family and friends stopped knowing about his whereabouts last Thursday, October 12, when he was last seen at the Santa Justa train station in Seville, heading to his house after a night of party.

Given this, the press has traveled to the place to report on the latest news on site. And it was the Mañaneros program that found itself in a difficult live situation. One of the reporters has unknowingly recorded the body of a person between two carriages. A body that has been confirmed to belong to the missing person. Renfe, for its part, has assured that the train where Prieto was found had not moved and had not been inspected since August 24 after a breakdown.

“At Córdoba CF we regret to report that our youth player Álvaro Prieto has finally been found dead,” said the deceased’s football team. A discovery that was made live and that, unfortunately, was broadcast for a few seconds.

“We have seen something suspicious. We have seen some sneakers sticking out of the carriages with beige pants. We have asked his friends if he was wearing white sneakers,” the reporter began to relate, without knowing that the images were going to be so explicit.

“When we witnessed it we started screaming, the train stopped and was reversing because the canine unit was coming here,” he concluded, with a trembling voice. But before ending the connection, the program itself cut off the live image when it verified that the young man’s body was being seen.

Immediately, Jaime Cantizano took the controls and it was clear from his face that he did not expect this to happen. “We are going to try to pull ourselves together and be extremely careful with the images. We have experienced it live with Alberto, who was very affected,” he assured.

Shortly after, the presenter interrupted the program to send a clear message: “On behalf of this group we want to apologize. Like the rest of the media, we have been following the disappearance of the young man from Cordoba for days, Álvaro Prieto. We have a team deployed to cover the news and it happened live: he witnessed the appearance of a corpse”.

With this statement, Mañaneros wants to make it clear that it has all been “the result of speed” and the narrative that was being carried out. “We have offered live images that should never have been broadcast. We are very sorry and these apologies are, first of all, addressed to the family of the deceased,” Cantizano continued.

In addition, he wanted to make it clear that the images of the body have been quickly removed from the digital broadcast of the program so that they cannot be seen again. Something that they are not achieving, since they have immediately gone viral through social networks. Even so, Jaime Cantizano has apologized again and has assured that the images have been made “at the disposal of the national police.”

A live event that has caused a stir and thousands of criticisms. Some X (Twitter) users claim that the program has broadcast the images deliberately. A statement that a Mañaneros worker completely denies: “No one expected it.”

Although Jaime Cantizano has expressed the network’s apologies live, RTVE has not hesitated to send another statement. “RTVE deeply regrets the images broadcast this morning live on the Mañaneros program in the framework of the investigation into the disappearance of Álvaro Prieto. Images that should never have been broadcast,” they began to report.

“The program, after apologizing live, has already made all the audiovisual material in its possession available to the Police and has ordered the immediate withdrawal of its digital broadcast. Likewise, RTVE has proceeded to open an internal investigation,” it is finished.
