President Donald Trump be losing his cool on Friday, going after ex-FBI director James Comey for an Instagram post that got everyone all riled up. The post had a pic of “8647” written in seashells on the sand, with Comey saying it was just a chill shell formation he saw on his beach walk. But some of Trump’s buddies on the far-right, like Laura Loomer, are saying Comey’s actually dropping hints about offing the prez.
Now, “86” can mean a bunch of things, like getting rid of something, according to the folks at Merriam-Webster. Comey thought the message in the shells had some political meaning, but he swears he didn’t mean it as a call for violence against Trump. Trump ain’t buying it though. He told Fox News that Comey should’ve known better, saying even a kid would get what “8647” means. According to Trump, that’s code for assassination.
Trump’s been holding a grudge against Comey ever since he gave him the boot back in the day. He’s calling Comey a “bad guy” and a “dirty cop.” But when it comes to investigating Comey, Trump’s leaving it up to Attorney General Pam Bondi. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says the U.S. Secret Service is already looking into Comey’s post. Comey’s getting heat from all sides, with FBI Director Kash Patel and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard calling for him to be locked up. Looks like Comey’s Instagram post caused a whole lot of drama, and it ain’t over yet.
