Ryan Kobayashi, the father of Hannah Kobayashi, a 31-year-old woman who went missing in Los Angeles, was tragically found dead near Los Angeles International Airport. His daughter disappeared after missing a connecting flight at LAX, prompting him and other family members to travel to Los Angeles to search for her.
Despite their efforts, Hannah’s family has not heard from her since November 10, and her last known location was near the Pico Metro Station in downtown Los Angeles on November 11. The LAPD responded to a report of a death in the area of Century Boulevard early Sunday morning, where Ryan Kobayashi was found.
While the cause of Ryan Kobayashi’s death has not been disclosed by the LAPD, a nonprofit organization called the RAD Movement, which has been assisting in the search for Hannah, released a statement on behalf of the family. They expressed the immense tragedy that the Kobayashi family is facing, with Ryan Kobayashi taking his own life after tirelessly searching for his daughter for 13 days.
The RAD Movement emphasized that Hannah Kobayashi is still actively missing and believed to be in imminent danger. They urged the public to remain vigilant in their efforts to locate her and refrain from contacting the family to allow them space to grieve. Hannah is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin, and freckles.
Hannah’s aunt, Larie Pidgeon, shared that Hannah was traveling from Maui to New York City to visit family but went missing after missing her connecting flight in Los Angeles. She made alarming statements about feeling scared and being targeted for theft upon her return to LAX, followed by cryptic messages before all communication ceased.
The family is deeply concerned for Hannah’s safety and is pleading with the public to help keep her name and information circulating. If anyone spots Hannah Kobayashi, they are urged to contact 911 immediately and provide a photo if possible. All tips and media inquiries should be directed to The RAD Movement.
