Like a little girl in the shoe, Tottenham once again made Manchester City bitter. The Spurs started a draw in an impressive match (3-3). Guardiola’s team could have won, and so could the London team. In the end, balance, and City that is third, three points behind the leader, Arsenal. The second is Liverpool, two behind the Gunners.
The meeting was already born in an open grave. Tottenham took the lead in a counterattack in which Son won hand-to-hand against Doku. The Korean beat an Ederson who could have done more (7). It seemed that the streak that indicated that those from London had beaten the Manchester team in five of the previous seven Premier games could be extended. However, the joy was short-lived for the Spurs as Son himself scored into his own goal after a lateral foul taken by City (9).
Tying so quickly unleashed Guardiola’s men, who laid siege to Tottenham’s goal. But the Spurs, with the Spaniards Pedro Porro and Bryan Gil in the eleven, did not shrink.
There was no time to even breathe, with constant mobility. The proof, City’s second goal. Håland opened the wing for Doku, who filtered a pass into the area. That’s where Julián Álvarez stood out, controlling and setting a perfect serve for Foden. The goal was a reality. A fantastic and precise play, at a mile an hour (32).
In the middle of the rush Julián Álvarez ran into the post and Håland sent another shot up. A non-stop. City forgave there and would pay later. Because Tottenham leveled the contest when Lo Celso, who Xavi Hernández likes so much, took a left-footed shot from the edge of his hat (69). The Argentine himself was able to make it 2-3 with another violent cocoa. Instead, what came was 3-2, thanks to an assist from Håland and a goal from Grealish (81).
Tottenham did not give up there either, achieving the final 3-3 (90) with a powerful header from Kulusevski. And, in the end, controversy when the referee whistled a foul on Haland instead of applying the law of advantage when Grealish was going alone on goal.
While at Anfield, Liverpool and Fulham played another vibrant match, which ended with a spectacular 4-3. Alternatives, great goals and rock. Pure Klopp-style match. The Reds raised a 2-3 lead in the final minutes with a shot from the crescent of the area by Endo and an accurate shot by Alexander-Arnold. A tremendous day in England.
