The Tortosa City Council has closed the 2023 budget with a remaining treasury for general expenses of 2.6 million euros.
After meeting the spending commitments acquired during the past year, the council estimates that the figure will be reduced to 360,000 euros, 85% lower than the remainder in 2023, which was 2.5 million euros. euros.
“While last year there was a surplus of 2.5 million euros available for new projects and current spending, this year it is estimated that it will only be 360,000 euros,” explained the mayor of Tortosa, Jordi Jordan.
The City Council will report on the settlement of the 2023 budget during the plenary session on April 8.
Regarding the expenses that the council will finance with the remaining treasury and that are commitments acquired during 2023, they include the payment of invoices from Tortosa Energy Management for an amount greater than 600,000 euros and from Acciona for 150,000 euros, among others.
