Three young people have been arrested in Calella de Palafrugell (Girona) for the violent incident recorded at dawn yesterday in that coastal town when a group of people tried to force their way into a nightclub that had not allowed them access to the premises. Those involved in the events threw fences, stones and glass bottles at the establishment’s security guards.
Two of the young people have been arrested by the Mossos and the third, by the local police. The detainees, who are in police stations, are 27 and 28 years old and are of foreign origin. The three, according to the Catalan police, have been arrested in the leisure area of ??Calella de Palafrugell, where this morning Mossos and Local Police officers have deployed a preventive operation to prevent a repetition of last night’s attack on the nightclub.
The arrests, they have indicated, have been registered after the alleged perpetrators of the events could be identified by the investigators and it was verified that they had a history of similar events in this town on the Costa Brava. They are accused of a crime of public disorder and will go to court in the next few hours.
The violent events took place shortly before four in the morning yesterday at the gates of the Costa Este nightclub. The confrontation began when a large group of young people tried to access the premises, which the security members refused to do.
After a verbal argument, the youngsters moved away from the discotheque and began to throw blunt objects at the security agents, who finally took refuge in the premises and closed the accesses. The investigation into these events is still open and the Mossos are not ruling out new arrests.
