National Police officers have arrested three young minors in Palma as alleged perpetrators of the crime of sexual assault and robbery with violence, as well as two of them for a hate crime.
In a press release, the Police have reported that the events occurred at the end of summer of last year 2023 in the S’Indioteria neighborhood of Palma, around 05:00 a.m., when two victims were leaving a leisure venue and They were attacked by a group of young people, whom they had previously recorded in a fight between them and another group.
The victims had no relationship with that fight, they only limited themselves to recording it in case it was useful to those attacked. The group of young people, however, appeared threatening and aggressive when addressing the two victims and, apparently, one of them sexually assaulted one of them, touching her in intimate areas, in addition to spitting in her face and pushing her.
The two victims were also attacked by other members of the group, suffering the robbery with violence of various effects, another man allegedly sexually assaulting one of them by touching her in intimate areas, even trying to tear off her dress.
In addition to the attacks and robbery, according to what the National Police has communicated to the media, one of the victims was subjected to serious insults and humiliation against his sexual orientation.
The Family and Women’s Care Unit (UFAM) of the National Police carried out an investigation to fully clarify the facts once it received the complaint, carrying out numerous procedures and managing to identify three young people, being treated of three minors.
Once identified, they were arrested last week as the alleged perpetrators of the events. The three are being investigated for sexual assault, and two of them are also being investigated for robbery with violence, a hate crime. Added to all this is the accusation of an alleged crime of work mistreatment against one of them.
Even so, the investigation remains open and new arrests in the future are not ruled out.
